Come Bye is the second in the Herding Series. It picks up two characters from Away to Me, and explores their lives and friendships.
Plot Synopsis:
When Gerry Krane returns to the small town where she grew up to write a book about two of the local celebrities, and an artist and her family move in down the road, everyone in town seems on the verge of change – from names to hairstyles to relationships to creative outlets.
New friendships are forged and old acquaintances are remembered – particularly Miss Velma Lee Lewis, the grand doyenne of manners and rectitude. Although deceased, her edicts continue to influence the behavior of all the citizens of Plainview.
Secrets from the past come to the surface amid the herding and trailing activities of the dog stars of Gerry's book, BELLWHETHER TAILS.
In the same way that the herding term, "Come Bye," (turn right and circle clockwise) is the complement to "Away to Me," (turn left and circle counter-clockwise), so the book Come Bye is a complement to Away To Me. Both books herd together a family, but they come to the solution from opposite directions.
